DISASTER MOVIE

disaster movie

From the title, you can guess what this film and where it gets its ideas from, that’s right, other films.

As with the other films of this nature, EPIC MOVIE, DATE MOVE etc, this is a parody of all the most recent blockbusters and matches it with topical events in the world, and for what it puts out, it is a funny film on a par with SUPERHERO MOVIE.

Fans of the franchise should go and see this and see how many famous people they see cropping up.

BANGKOK DANGEROUS

bangkok

Nicolas Cage has a good variety of films under his belt and in each of them he delivers a powerful performance. This is in keeping with what he can do.

Bangkok Dangerous is a re-make of the ’99 film of the same name and it has the same directors at the helm and they steer this ‘ship’ well with action and beautiful backdrops coming from all angles.

This has just the right mix of action, romance and human emotion and it makes for fun watching, especially Nic Cage’s teaching methods.

Fans of Mr Cage will want to give this a go.

The Strangers - BOOK NOW

Strangers

Good horror films are like Solar Eclipses, they are few and far between and when they come along the watchers are doubtlessly impressed…think of this film as the Solar Eclipses of horror movies, the best for a long time.

When I first saw the trailer for this film a few months ago I thought it looked diabolically scary, and I wasn’t proved wrong.

Liv Tyler and Scott Speedman play the ill-fated couple with talent and skill that is seldom seen in recent horrors and the director must hate audiences as his attempts to scare the audience work exceedingly well, keep a good hold on the popcorn box!

Fans of other psychological horror films like the SAW franchise will like this as it has similar elements of suspense, shock and the unknown.

Get Smart
get smart

Steve Carell is back to his best as he tackles another comedy. After playing a 40 year old virgin, a messiah and a family man, he takes on the role of a secret agent, and does it well.

Get Smart is a film version of the classic 60’s TV show and is extremely enjoyable. Anne Hathaway, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and various faces from his other films join Mr Carell in the spy parody, and all of them throw their talent into the comedic melting pot with very funny results.

Fans of Steve Carell, James Bond and Mission Impossible films will enjoy this latest big screen adaptation.

You Don't Mess with the Zohan - BOOK NOW

You Don't Mess with the Zohan

The premise for this film is way out there with marmite flavoured crisps. An Israeli Counter-Terrorist operative wants to leave the service and move to the States to become a hairdresser…what?

Adam Sandler has a history of making bizarre films, and making them work, and this film is one of them.

The Zohan is a very funny film, packed full of humour and innuendo from every angle, and with cameo appearances from most of his previous films players, this film really will have you smiling all through it and you will leave the screen thinking of its political message and how it relates to the world today.

Fans of Adam Sandler and comedy films in general will love this.

Hellboy II: The Golden Army - BOOK NOW

Hell Boy II

Del Toro has to be given a round of applause, in the last few years he has directed some very impressive films and this one is no different.

Hellboy II has the visual elements of Pan's labyrinth, the action of Hellboy (times two), combined with comedy from Ron Pearlman's Hellboy, a strange helmeted German and Abe Sapien: it’s a greatly balanced adventure.

The Golden Army is an improvement on Hellboy's first outing, but only because the quality of visual effects progresses with time.

The direction, acting, action, CGI and make up etc is flawless, the story hums with a power that makes you smile and want to know more!

Fans of fantasy and comic book films, Blade 2 and Hellboy will find this film fun and extremely enjoyable!

The Dark Knight - BOOK NOW
batman

This film, I can confirm, hand on heart, is the best Batman film ever!

The direction, action, suspense, characters…everything about this is remarkable..you are constantly on the edge of your seat.

Christopher Nolan has directed the whole cast to perfection, Christian Bale’s tortured Batman, the late Heath Ledger’s Joker and Gary Oldman’s Lieutenant Gordon all make you want to just stand and cheer.

Fans of the Batman comics and Batman Begins will love this as will everyone who watches it!

The Love Guru BOOK NOW

love guru

Mike Myers has made a career out of eccentric characters and laugh out loud humour such as Austin Powers, Wayne's World, Shrek, So I Married an Axe Murderer etc, and they all make for good watching.

This is no different, it is a healthy mix of obvious humour and subtle conjecture, with jokes akin to Austin Powers coupled with a comedy version of Magnolia.

The film is packed with stars with Justin Timberlake and Jessica Alba in the film's forefront, but the rest of the cast is not overshadowed by them with laughs coming from every angle.

Fans of Myers' comedy and the Austin Powers series will enjoy the long haired, bearded Love Guru.

MAMMA MIA - BOOK NOW

MAMMA MIA

Taken from the stage show of the same name and riddled with iconic ABBA songs, this film is everything that it should be.

The singing is performed by the stars and is done well, which ABBA fans will find delightful especially when combined with so many big names and set against a beautiful Greek landscape.

This is a fun, enjoyable film and fans of musicals will definitely want to see this and they won’t be disappointed they did.

WALL-E - BOOK NOW

WALL·E

Pixar Animation Studios are possibly the greatest animation studios on the planet! Having made jewels such as Monsters Inc, Cars and Toy Story to name a few, people should expect Wall-E to be just as good…and it is!

Wall-E may not have a lot of dialogue but that doesn’t matter as the little clepto, trash compacting robot is so cool you will find yourself smiling with him all the way through it as he tries to do his job and woo his romantic interest, a shiny new robot named Eve.

Packed with funny moments and astounding animation, this film also has a moral message and it is conveyed brilliantly.

Fans of Pixar will love this, as will children and adults alike, it is definitely in the top three of Pixar films, go see it!
